Hi there, and welcome to Yellow Birds Design — a small (but mighty!) stationery shop nestled in Kansas City, Missouri.I’m Amy, the one‑woman creative behind each design. I hand‑illustrate whimsical, heartfelt paper goods; cards with meaning, prints that tell little stories, and designs crafted to spark genuine connection. Everything at Yellow Birds Design is created with one goal: to brighten a day, mark a meaningful moment, or simply say what matters most.With every order, you’ll often find a little extra: a bonus card, a handwritten note, or a surprise sketch—just my way of saying thank you for supporting a small business.

My Story

Hello, I’m Amy Spears — illustrator, graphic designer, and the heart behind Yellow Birds Design.

This little studio began with a sketchpad, an iPad, and a quiet wish to make something that felt like sunshine on paper. I started drawing birds, forests, ghosts, and little moments of magic—just for friends and just for fun. But what began as a creative spark quickly grew into something more: a collection of cards and prints designed to say the things we sometimes can’t find the words for.Before Yellow Birds Design, I spent 20 years as a graphic designer in the publishing industry, shaping and enhancing other people’s stories. In 2024, I finally decided to shape my own. I opened Yellow Birds Design with a simple but heartfelt goal: to turn small, meaningful moments into keepsakes worth holding on to.My work is rooted in storytelling and inspired by everyday magic. I draw from quiet joys, personal connections, and the people we hold close. Whether it’s a card, a print, or a calendar, every Yellow Birds Design piece is created to brighten someone’s day, offer comfort, or help you say what matters most.Thank you for being here.
